Kabale. 29th July 2026. Hon. Enid Origumisiriza, Woman Member of Parliament for Kabale District, today paid a courtesy visit to the district Muslim leadership at Masjid Jamia Kirigime Mosque, Kabale Municipality.
The meeting, attended by the District Muslim Leaders focused on pressing service delivery challenges affecting the Muslim community and surrounding residents.
Addressing the MP, the leaders presented a list of concerns centered on Kirigime Health Center III, the main government facility serving the area.
Top among them was the absence of an operating theater at the facility. Leaders said patients requiring emergency and maternal care are forced to travel to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, a delay they blamed for preventable complications.
They also cited a persistent shortage of PHC services, saying the health center often runs out of essential drugs. Other issues raised included the lack of a perimeter fence around the facility, which they said exposes property to theft, and inadequate maternal health services, including insufficient beds and staffing for deliveries.
In response, Hon. Origumisiriiza appreciated the leadership for the warm reception and pledged to take up the matters to relevant authorities.
She added that she will also engage district health officials to address immediate gaps where possible.
Muslim leaders welcomed the visit and said they hope it translates into tangible improvements at the facility.
