KABALE, 27th July 2026. Hon. Enid Origumisiriiza (Aunt Enid), the Woman MP Kabale district in partnership with Kabale District Local Government, today hosted the District Women’s Conference at Unite Campus, Kabale Municipality.
Held under the theme “Scaling Up Investment to Accelerate Access to Justice for all Women and Girls in Uganda”, the conference brought together women leaders, councillors, technical staff, and stakeholders from across the district to deliberate on empowerment, justice, health, and economic growth.
In her address, Hon. Enid called on women to fully embrace government initiatives aimed at household transformation.
“Let us take advantage of UWEP, GROW, and PDM. These programs are designed to lift families out of poverty. Use them to start businesses, educate your children, and build stronger communities,” she said.
Hon. Enid commended the district leadership for what she described as exemplary transparency and cooperation. She specifically recognized the LCV Chairperson, DEC, RDC’s office, the CAO, and the entire technical team for their support in organizing the conference.
She also appreciated all Kabale District MPs for their solidarity and support towards the event, and challenged them to maintain the same spirit of service.
“I thank all our MPs for standing with us. Let us keep this cooperation for the good of the people who elected us,” she added.
The Woman MP further tasked all attendees to acquire income-generating skills and to be ambassadors of the knowledge gained during the day.
“Go back home and implement what you have learned. A skilled woman is an empowered woman, and an empowered woman transforms a nation,” Hon. Enid charged.
The day featured expert presentations on Gender Based Violence Prevention, Parenting and Parenting Skills, Women and Reproductive Health, and Women Economic Empowerment. The function concluded with a cake cutting ceremony led by Hon. Enid, symbolizing unity and celebration.
District leaders present hailed the conference as a milestone in strengthening women’s participation in development and governance in Kabale.
