KABALE, 16th Aug 2026. Hon. Enid Origumisiriza, the Woman Member of Parliament for Kabale District, has called on Christians to actively participate in government wealth creation programs and to prioritize unity over political divisions for the development of the district.
Delivering her message through her representative, Mr. Boaz Mwesigwa, during a thanksgiving Mass for Mr. Francis and Mrs. Kyorisiima Emily at St. Paul’s Nyabushabi Catholic Church today, Hon. Enid said sustainable development can only be realized when communities set aside post-election grudges and work together.
“Elections come and go, but development must continue. I urge you, to leave behind the disputes of elections and focus on building our homes, our parishes, and our district,” she said in the message delivered by Mr. Boaz.
The Woman MP specifically encouraged Christians to take full advantage of the Parish Development Model - PDM, Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Program. She noted that these government initiatives were designed to lift households out of poverty and empower the youth, women, and vulnerable groups.
“Government has provided the tools. PDM is about money in the hands of the parish. Emyooga is about SACCOs growing our businesses. Youth Livelihood is about giving our young people capital to start. The question now is: are we going to use them?” she asked.
Hon. Enid further emphasized that the church and government must work hand in hand. She commended the congregation of Nyabushabi for their spirit of thanksgiving and unity, saying such gatherings reflect the values of family, faith, and service that Kabale needs to move forward.
Mr. Francis and Mrs. Kyorisiima Emily hosted the thanksgiving Mass to appreciate God for His blessings upon their family. The event attracted leaders, relatives, and Christians from across the District who prayed for continued peace and prosperity.
Local leaders who attended welcomed the MP’s message, saying it was timely as the district enters a new phase of implementing government programs at the parish level.
