KABALE.
Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Enid Origumisiriza has urged Ugandans to embrace unity beyond politics and religion, and discouraged corruption among leaders.
She made the remarks today while speaking at the wedding reception of Mr. Habert Kajoki and his dear wife Agness at Bunyonyi Safaris Hilltop in Kabale District.
In her speech, Hon. Origumisiriza thanked the couple for their commitment to faith despite their religious differences.
“I want to thank Mr Kajoki and Agness. The man is a Protestant and the woman is a Catholic, but they have remained committed to their religions and have decided to build a home together,” she said.
She added that such examples are important for the community.
“We must encourage unity beyond politics and beyond religion. That is how we shall have peace and development in Kigezi and Uganda at large,” she noted.
On government, the MP said:
“I encourage unity beyond politics, and I discourage corruption. This is the time for leaders to serve the people with integrity,” Hon. Origumisiriza stated.
The event was attended by family, friends, religious and political leaders from across Kabale.
