Hon. Enid Origumisiriza Leads Kabahangara Residents in National Cleaning Day Activities.

KABALE, 25th July 2026.
Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Enid Origumisiriza Atuheire today morning joined residents of her home cell, Kabahangara, Southern division of kabale municipality to participate in the inaugural National Cleaning Day activities.

The exercise, held from 7:00AM to 10:00AM, marked the launch of the government’s directive that all Ugandans participate in community cleaning every last Saturday of the month.

Dressed in casual attire, Hon. Origumisiriza worked alongside residents of Kabahangara to sweep streets, collect garbage, and clear drainage channels.

Speaking to the residents after the exercise, the Woman MP emphasized that cleanliness is key to disease prevention and community pride.

“A clean Kabale District is everybody’s responsibility. We cannot wait for government alone. When we come out as communities every last Saturday, we protect our children from diseases and we make our home beautiful,”_ she said.

Hon. Origumisiriza commended President Museveni, The prime Minister and the Ministry of Health for reintroducing the monthly cleaning exercise, noting that it will help in the fight against cholera, malaria, and other hygiene-related illnesses.

“Let us make this a culture. From Kabahangara to every village in Kabale, let’s turn up, work together, and keep our environment clean,”_ she added.

The residents pledged to sustain the exercise and ensure that it continues.
