Kabale District Woman MP Mourns with Hon Bamwanga Family, Pushes for Kigezi Development Priorities at Late Marvin Kakuru’s Burial in kasheregyenyi, Kamuganguzi sub county..

KAMUGANGUZI, KABALE DISTRICT.

Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Enid Origumisiriza today joined mourners at the burial of the Late Marvin Kakuru, son to former Ndorwa West MP Hon. Steven Bamwanga, at the family home in Kasheregyenyi, Kamuganguzi Sub County.

The funeral service was presided over by Bishop Emeritus George Katwesigye, who represented the Kigezi Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna. The service drew a number of political and religious leaders, among them was the Ndorwa county west Mp Hon Eliab Naturinda Mporera, Rukungiri District Woman MP Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo, the Entebbe City MP, and retired Bishop Enock Kayeeye, as well as several other political and religious leaders.

Addressing mourners, Hon. Origumisiriza conveyed her condolences to Hon. Bamwanga and his family. She commended the former legislator for upholding Bakiga cultural values.

Turning to the widow, Mrs. Moreen Kakuru, the Kabale Woman MP urged her to remain “rooted and established in God” during this period of bereavement. She comforted the family with a reading from Psalms 34.

In her remarks, Hon. Origumisiriza also restated a collective position by Kigezi MPs on key development issues. She called on government to expedite compensation for wetland evictees in the region. She further appealed for urgent works on Bunyonyi Road and other roads serving Kigezi communities.

The MP welcomed the establishment of the Kigezi Industrial Hub in Kamuganguzi Sub County, which she attributed to President Yoweri Museveni. She urged residents to take advantage of the facility for skills development.

Hon. Origumisiriza concluded by emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation among leaders and the public in driving development in Kigezi.

The burial was attended by a cross-section of political, religious, and community leaders who gathered to support the Bamwanga family.
