HON. ORIGUMISIRIZA JOINS DIGNITARIES AT PRESIDENT MUSEVENI’S SWEARING-IN, SET FOR PARLIAMENT OATH ON FRIDAY, 15th MAY 2026.

Kampala, 12th May 2026.

Hon. Enid Origumisiriza, Kabale District Woman MP-elect, was among the dignitaries who attended the swearing-in ceremony of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds today.

The event marked the start of President Museveni’s seventh term for 2026–2031, following his victory in the January 15th general elections with 71.65% of the vote. The ceremony, held under the theme “Protecting the gains, making a qualitative leap into high middle-income status”, drew over 30 heads of state and foreign delegations.

Security was tight across Kampala, with restricted access and traffic diversions around Kololo. Invited guests began taking their seats from 8:20am, with MPs, ministers, and the diplomatic corps arriving from 9:00am.

Hon.Enid Origumisiriza, commonly known as Aunt Enid who won the Kabale District Woman MP seat in the January 2026 elections on the NRM ticket, is scheduled to take her oath of office at Parliament House on Friday, 15th May 2026.

Parliament set 13th–15th May 2026 for the swearing-in of all newly elected MPs of the 12th Parliament. The Clerk to Parliament will administer the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Member of Parliament in scheduled sessions over the three days.

The swearing-in will formally usher in the 12th Parliament, with the first sitting expected on 25th May 2026 to elect the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Origumisiriza, a former teacher at Kigezi High School and anti-poverty advocate, said her focus in Parliament will be on service delivery and community development.
