It is now nearly a year since a defining moment in the political journey of Kabale District.
On that day, Hon. Enid A. Origumisiriza, the Woman MP -elect and NRM Flag Bearer for Kabale District, who is set to be sworn in on 15th May 2026 reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to serve her people with integrity, humility, and selflessness. She boldly assured the citizens that the security of their votes would be protected, and that the democratic process would remain transparent and credible throughout both the NRM primaries and the general elections.
This assurance carried deep meaning. It addressed the painful memories of 2021, when many in the community believed that victory had been within reach, only for it to slip away amid concerns over irregularities. Determined that history would not repeat itself, Hon. Enid stood firm and this time, the will of the people prevailed.
July 2025, at Kabale Central Market, hope was reborn. In a powerful display of unity, people from all walks of life gathered in large numbers young and old, across different political beliefs, economic backgrounds, and religious faiths. Christians, Muslims, and believers from various denominations came together, not divided by doctrine, but united by a shared vision for progress. They offered prayers, words of encouragement, and even material support food and financial contributions symbolizing a collective investment in a leader they Trust.
That gathering marked more than just the beginning of her district rallies; it was a statement. A declaration that Kabale was ready for inclusive leadership, leadership that transcends religion, tribe, and social status. The overwhelming turnout signaled a groundswell of support that would echo across every corner of the district.
In the days that followed, that unity translated into action. The people turned up in large numbers to cast their votes, entrusting Hon. Enid with the NRM flag after a decisive victory over the incumbent. But for the people of Kabale, this was only the beginning.
Recognizing her dedication, compassion, and tireless work ethic, they went even further rallying behind her once again in the general elections, voting overwhelmingly to send her to the Parliament of Uganda as their Woman Member of Parliament. To many, she is more than a leader; she is a mother, a counselor, and an Aunt , a symbol of care, accessibility, and hope.
Her victory stands as a testament to the power of unity socially, politically, economically, and spiritually. It reflects a community that chose cooperation over division, faith over fear, and progress over stagnation.
Now, as 15th May 2026 draws near, Kabale stands on the brink of fulfilling a long-awaited dream. The swearing-in of Hon. Enid is not just a personal milestone it is a victory for every voter, every supporter, and every believer in a better future for the district.
With gratitude and pride, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the people of Kabale for their unwavering support, trust, and love.
